My Story
Rooted in plants, guided by intuition.
I am originally from the beautiful Swiss Alps and grew up in Singapore, where my childhood was shaped by nature and a deep connection to the plant world. Herbal remedies were simply part of everyday life in our home.
My mother cared for us with essential oils and herbal teas, teaching me that caring for ourselves could be intuitive, and slow. Growing up in Asia also meant being surrounded by traditions such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, which further deepened my understanding of my body and its place in the web of nature. Holistic living wasn’t something I discovered later or consciously chose as a lifestyle, it was just how I was raised.

It wasn’t until 2025, however, that herbalism became a conscious practice of my own. I began studying it formally and, as I learned more, something that had always been familiar to me suddenly took on a much deeper meaning.
The more I studied, the more I realised how disconnected many of us have become from the plants around us. Herbal knowledge can sometimes feel complicated or reserved for specialists, when historically much of it was simply part of everyday life and passed from one generation to the next. Herbalism is after all "people's medecine".
What drew me in was how practical it could be. Getting to know the plants growing around me, learning how they had traditionally been used and eventually making my own preparations made herbalism feel much less abstract. It became something I could actually weave into everyday life.
Ella’s Herbs grew out of my desire to make that relationship with plants feel accessible again.
I want to share what I am learning along the way, explain why I choose the plants I work with and be transparent about how my formulations are made. I don’t want herbalism to feel mysterious or intimidating. I want people to feel curious about plants and comfortable getting to know them.
There is also a much more intuitive side to why I do this. In many ways, I feel as though I didn’t choose herbalism so much as slowly find my way back to it. The deeper I went, the more natural it felt. There was something incredibly grounding about learning to pay attention to plants again.
Today, I create botanical formulations drawing on traditional herbal knowledge alongside what I continue to learn through my training. I develop each formula myself before working with a Swiss laboratory to turn it into the finished product.
My hope is simple: to help others fall back in love with the plant world.
I believe that reconnecting with plants and with the intelligence of nature has the power to restore a sense of balance not only within ourselves, but within the world around us.
Crafted with reverence for plants, people, and the earth.
May these products find a place in your everyday rituals and bring you a little closer to the plants they came from.
With love,
Ella
